About the Role

The Company is in search of a Senior Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on a range of complex client and distribution matters. The successful candidate will be a key legal advisor, partnering with various teams to ensure that legal strategies are in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This role is particularly focused on sophisticated institutional client relationships, intermediary and platform arrangements, and the associated regulatory considerations in both U.S. and non-U.S. markets. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) with 5-10+ years' of legal experience, a background in advising financial services firms, and a strong understanding of the U.S. Investment Advisers Act and international regulatory regimes. Key responsibilities for the Senior Counsel include acting as the lead legal advisor on client mandates, drafting and negotiating a variety of legal agreements, and overseeing the legal aspects of fee structures and governance. The role requires a senior attorney with a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to influence across functions. The candidate should have a proven track record in negotiating complex legal agreements, be adept at managing multiple priorities, and demonstrate a high level of analytical rigor and problem-solving. Excellent communication skills, the ability to operate independently, and a commitment to ethical and professional standards are essential. Experience in mentoring and a strong work ethic are also important, with a preference for candidates who have prior in-house experience.
