We are specifically looking for an established railroad mechanical professional who has direct experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing locomotives. This position requires previous locomotive repair experience and is not intended as an entry-level opportunity.Currently living outside Florida? That's okay. We're actively seeking experienced locomotive professionals from other markets who are open to relocating. Eligible candidates may receive a relocation package to assist with their move to the Mulberry area.After relocation, you will report primarily to our Mulberry operation. You should also be comfortable traveling periodically when mechanical support is needed at another railroad facility or project.What You'll Be DoingThis position combines troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and hands-on locomotive repair. Responsibilities may include:Diagnose locomotive mechanical and equipment failuresInspect diesel locomotives and determine necessary repairsTroubleshoot engines, electrical components, air systems, and brake equipmentComplete preventive maintenance and scheduled inspectionsRepair, remove, and replace locomotive componentsPerform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication workUse electrical meters, diagnostic devices, hand tools, and power equipmentInterpret wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, and technical specificationsTest equipment and verify proper operation following repairsComplete required maintenance and inspection recordsMaintain tools and work areas in safe conditionFollow company, customer, railroad, and applicable FRA requirementsExperience We're Looking ForApplicants must have professional, hands-on locomotive maintenance or repair experience. Qualified candidates should bring:Proven experience repairing diesel locomotivesStrong mechanical troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of locomotive engines and mechanical componentsExperience with electrical, pneumatic, air, and brake systemsWelding and fabrication capabilitiesAbility to understand technical diagrams and schematicsExperience with industrial tools and diagnostic equipmentAbility to troubleshoot and perform repairs with limited supervisionStrong safety awareness and dependable work habitsValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to travel when operational needs require itWillingness to relocate to Mulberry, FloridaBackgrounds such as Diesel Locomotive Mechanic, Locomotive Repairman, Composite Repairman, Locomotive Maintenance Technician, or Railroad Mechanical Technician may align well with this opportunity.Important Relocation InformationThis job is physically located in Mulberry, FL, regardless of the city where you see the advertisement. Candidates hired from outside the area will need to relocate and establish Mulberry as their primary work location. A relocation package is available for eligible candidates according to company guidelines.
