Quality Assurance Specialist Lead

Job Summary:

The OIC-Quality Assurance Specialist 3 (QAS3) serves as a QA Lead responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing end-to-end testing efforts for enterprise applications and integrations. This role bridges business requirements with technical validation, supervises testing teams, ensures requirements traceability, and provides clear release-readiness reporting. The specialist also contributes to automation code review and development as needed, working onsite in Columbus, Ohio. Responsibilities:

  • Act as Test Lead for programs, releases, modules, and production-readiness efforts.
  • Develop test strategies, scope, entry/exit criteria, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Assign and supervise testing tasks, review test artifacts, mentor testers, and enforce QA standards.
  • Coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, DevOps, DBAs, and stakeholders.
  • Review business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to identify gaps.
  • Translate requirements into test scenarios, test cases, test data, and automation candidates.
  • Maintain measurable traceability from requirements through test execution and defect management.
  • Create and maintain test plans, suites, cases, configurations, and defect links in Azure DevOps.
  • Design and execute various types of tests including smoke, functional, API, integration, regression, UAT, and performance-support tests.
  • Lead defect triage sessions and manage defect severity and priority decisions.
  • Provide evidence-based release recommendations and communicate residual quality risks.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of QA/testing experience in enterprise software environments.
  • At least 2 years in QA Lead, Test Lead, or senior QA roles with formal leadership responsibility.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright or Selenium automation; Playwright with TypeScript strongly preferred.
  • Strong skills in business requirements document (BRD) and functional requirements (FR) analysis, requirements traceability matrix (RTM) design, and coverage management.
  • Experience with API testing and SQL/database validation.
  • Proven experience supervising testers, reviewing test artifacts, leading defect triage, and reporting to management.
  • Familiarity with Git, code review processes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience designing Playwright + TypeScript frameworks and migrating from Selenium.
  • Knowledge of reusable fixtures, page objects, API clients, test-data factories, and custom reporting.
  • Exposure to performance testing and coordination of specialized performance or security testing.
  • Experience with parallel test execution and worker-safe test design.
  • Ability to combine UI, API, and database validations within a single business workflow.
  • Familiarity with Docker/container technologies, accessibility testing, and advanced performance testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Special Considerations:
  • Strict prohibition on taking or using government equipment outside the United States; violation results in immediate termination and ineligibility for rehire.
  • Selected candidates must consent to a BCI fingerprint background check.
  • Work is required onsite at the William Green Building, 8th floor, 30 West Spring Street, Columbus, Ohio.
Scheduling:
  • Standard onsite work schedule at the specified Columbus, Ohio location.
  • Contract period from September 14, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
