Manufacturing Production Worker - Weekends Only (Madison, GA)

Overview Georgia‑Pacific is recruiting Production Workers for its Madison, GA plywood facility. The plant manufactures pine plywood panels and siding for residential and light commercial construction, including subflooring, wall and roof sheathing, and concrete formwork. Plywood is produced by gluing thin wood veneers with cross‑graining for stability and durability. Compensation Starting pay is $20 per hour with a $2 shift differential for night shift only. Shift Only candidates willing to work weekends are considered. We need support for two shifts: Day shift (7 am – 7:30 pm) and Night shift (7 pm – 7:30 am), both on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The department includes Dryers and Spray line. Madison, GA uses a points‑based attendance program. Responsibilities Operate various machines throughout the mill. Adjust to changing work schedules to meet business demands. Remove sawdust and debris from production equipment. Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns and project requirements. Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, wearing required safety equipment. Assist teammates as needed. Pull and lift plywood, panels, or scraps that may weigh up to 25 lb. Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 h/day. Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 ft to perform daily duties. Work in a hot, humid, dusty, cold, and noisy industrial environment. Work a 12‑hour weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Basic Qualifications Experience in at least one of manufacturing, agriculture, warehouse, construction, landscaping, automotive, military, or completion of post‑high‑school education in manufacturing/industrial. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years or more of experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction. Experience driving and operating a forklift. Experience working in wood products. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.
