Maintenance Equip Tech 1

This role is responsible for performing maintenance, service and/or repairs on various types of commercial food/processing equipment under appropriate supervisor.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Troubleshoot complex production equipment failures with direction and guidance from supervisor.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and calibrates commercial food/processing equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and makes recommendations regarding parts changes.
  • Travels to job sites and works with service expeditors to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers.
  • Perform any other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work nights and/or weekends on 24-hour-on call emergency duty on rotating basis to schedule emergency needs of customers.
  • Associates should be able to effectively use the department's work order web-based software, Verisae, to start, stop and/or close out work orders.
  • Maintain company vehicles, to include cleanliness and maintenance of van, organizing and monitoring inventory.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum two years of experience with ice machines, fryers, ovens, ranges, broilers, steamers, food processing and hot holding equipment.
  • Two-year associate degree in electronic technology preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

  • Must have a valid California Driver License.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrates troubleshooting skills.
  • General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic technology and theory.
  • Solid knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Solid knowledge of utilizing modern test equipment to diagnose equipment failures.
  • Maintains good communication with supervisor to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
  • Good verbal communication, writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to accept and understand direction, learn new skills and assume new responsibilities with a positive attitude.
  • Should be able to work closely with other associates.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks under minimal direction and guidance.
  • Be able to pass a standard drug test and qualify as being drug free under the legal and medical guidelines permitted by the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.

Pay $26.2500/hr. to $30.2882/hr.

  • The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
