Safety Coordinator

Description Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator supports human resources functions and maintains a safe, compliant warehouse environment. This role includes HR administration, employee relations, payroll/timekeeping support, and safety compliance. Bilingual in Spanish and English is required to communicate effectively with warehouse staff. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Support Assist in recruitment and onboarding, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and preparing new hire documentation. Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, and training documentation. Support payroll and timecard tracking, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Safety Coordination Conduct regular warehouse safety inspections and identify hazards. Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures. Maintain records of incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries; report to management and regulatory agencies. Coordinate safety training programs (forklift certification, PPE usage, emergency response drills). Investigate accidents and recommend corrective actions. General Duties Support performance management and employee relations issues. Prepare HR reports, metrics, and compliance documentation. Serve as a point of contact for HR and safety concerns. Perform other duties as assigned to support HR and warehouse operations. Qualifications: Bilingual in Spanish and English (required). Minimum 5 years of experience in HR, safety, or warehouse operations. Associate’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred. Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and safety regulations (OSHA compliance preferred). Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with HRIS or payroll systems preferred. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the warehouse for inspections and training.
