Pathologist Assistant
Provides consultation, histology, and diagnostic services to promote discoveries that advance diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, located in the metropolitan Washington DC area, is seeking a full-time ASCP certified Pathologists' Assistant to manage human cases (Autopsy consults including Clinical Trials) and preclinical animal studies (GLP and non-GLP).
Job Responsibilities:
- Case tracking management
- Gross tissue dissection
- X-rays
- Digital photography
- Organization of lab work for the pathologist
- Writing preliminary reports for analysis.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must have completed a Pathologists' Assistant training program (NAACLS) or hold an MS degree in the biologic sciences with a background in gross tissue analysis.
- National Certification (ASCP) preferred.
- Hands-on laboratory experience required.
- Must be well organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must adhere to GLP, CAP, and SOP policies and procedures, as applicable.
- Strong computer competence required (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
