Join an established emergency medicine team in Vidalia, Georgia, providing comprehensive emergency care in a hospital-based emergency department. This ongoing locums opportunity offers flexible shift lengths with day and night coverage needs while working alongside a collaborative team of emergency medicine providers and advanced practice providers.

Schedule:

Physician Shifts:

Three physicians scheduled with 11-hour shifts:

• 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM
• 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM

APP Coverage:

Approximately 30 hours of mid-level coverage:

Three 10-hour shifts:

• 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Orientation:

1-2 days of shadow orientation

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Hospital Emergency Department

Emergency Department Capacity:

• 20 ED bays
• 12 fast track bays
• 3 high-security rooms

Staffing Model:

• 2-4 emergency medicine providers on at the same time
• Normal emergency department support staff
• Two physician shifts overlap

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 1.8-2.0 patients per hour
• ED admission rate: 12-16%

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
• Manage a broad range of emergency medicine conditions
• Perform appropriate emergency procedures
• Admit and coordinate care for higher-acuity patients
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and hospital staff
• Document patient care using Expanse EMR

Support & Technology

Support Staff:

• Experienced emergency department nursing team
• APP coverage
• Standard ED support staff

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine - Required
• Minimum 2-3 years of Emergency Medicine experience - Required
• Eligible for or holding an unrestricted Georgia medical license - Required
• License must be free of restrictions, probationary terms, or conditions - Required
• No history of license revocation, restriction, or suspension in any jurisdiction - Required
• Current unrestricted DEA registration or willingness to obtain - Required
