Job Description

The Wound Care RN is responsible for providing specialized care and treatment for patients with complex wounds. This position requires expertise in wound care techniques, management of ostomies, and patient education on wound healing processes and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement wound care treatments based on best practices.
• Provide patient and family education regarding wound care management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Monitor and document patient progress and treatment efficacy.
• Utilize appropriate wound care products and technologies.
• Maintain compliance with infection control protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wound Care RN.
• BLS and WOCN certification required (continence certification not necessary).
• Experience in pediatrics is highly preferred.
• South Carolina RN License is preferred; pending licenses will be considered if accompanied by proof of application.
