Software Engineer IV

Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies, architects, and implements long term automation solutions for ambiguous problems. Builds test tools and framework that help organization maintain good product health and long-term maintainability and stability. The responsibility includes supervising product change with quality goals, and redesigns test framework to support experimentation and rollout.
• Define long-term quality driven roadmaps and prioritization aligned with team’s business goals. Focuses on identifying opportunities for innovation and emerging technologies to enhance the team’s quality testing capabilities, while aligning the vision with XFN partners.
• Showcases the ability to identify improvements in existing processes, takes ownership, and drives to resolution through others.
• Mentors multiple cross functional engineers and helps coach them to be successful. Brings clarity and removes ambiguities and ensuring the technical solutions aligns to org strategies and business goal.
• PQX SDET team with 4 team members providing horizontal support, mainly to FOA areas.
• Supports FOA and monetization, provides QA support, automation. Not embedded in the engineering team. Someone that can build XFN rapport.
• Support automation needs for FOA (IG, FB, Msgr, GenAI, WA)
• SDETs at ours are a unique position in of itself. This persona would drive automation strategy and execution for an FOA team
• Opportunity to define automation direction and execute on the strategy, working through ambiguity and building working relationships with stakeholders

Skills:

• Automation framework and infrastructure (Selenium).
• Experience with JS, Hack, PHP (Needs to be an expert in JavaScript and needs to have 3+ years with PHP/HACK.)
• Experience independently developing tools. The tools are related to increasing automation impact, for example, tools to map automated test to Manual test cases or tools to detect changes in a build to then select the right automation to run.
• Independent self-learner.
• UI Automation framework
• Data analytics

Education/Experience:

• Computer science degree is a nice to have, but manager values soft skills more than a degree.
