Sit-Down Propane Forklift Operator
- Operating a sit-down propane-powered forklift to safely transport, load, unload, and stage steel products weighing several thousand pounds.
- Qualified individuals must have experience moving large loads as well as loading & unloading on a flatbed trailer.
- Moving large bundles of steel, plate, pipe, tubing, and structural materials throughout warehouse and production areas.
- Loading and unloading flatbed trailers and delivery trucks while ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement of materials.
- Conducting daily forklift inspections, monitored propane fuel levels, and reported maintenance or safety concerns.
- Following OSHA regulations, company safety procedures, and established material-handling protocols.
- Read work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records to accurately move and stage materials.
- Maintaining awareness of load capacities, center-of-gravity considerations, and safe operating practices when handling oversized or heavy loads.
- Assisting with inventory control, material organization, and warehouse housekeeping.
- Working closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure efficient workflow and on-time deliveries.
- Demonstrating the ability to maneuver heavy loads in tight spaces while maintaining a strong safety record.
