Thermal Plant Performance & Emissions Analyst

Thermal plant performance and emissions professionals apply their operational expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and improve how AI understands thermal power generation workflows and emissions compliance practices. Role Overview

This ongoing, project-based hourly contract engagement is designed to fit alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.

• Evaluate AI-generated content using hands-on expertise in plant performance analysis, emissions monitoring, and GHG reporting.
• Provide expert feedback on thermal power generation workflows and emissions compliance practices.
• Independently produce analytical work and data outputs using the tools and workflows of your professional practice.
• Complete structured, project-based work tasks, including examples such as building price forecast models or developing PPA documentation.

• At least 2 years of professional experience in thermal power plant performance or emissions compliance.
• Experience in roles such as Plant Performance Engineer, Thermal Performance or Heat Rate Engineer, Air Quality or Emissions Compliance Specialist, GHG or Sustainability Reporting Analyst, or an equivalent energy-industry role.
• Ability to independently use AVEVA PI, ArcGIS, or both.
• Ability to independently complete workflows including heat rate efficiency analysis, power plant heat rate performance analysis, EPA Continuous Emissions Monitoring Reports, GHG emissions inventories, and annual reporting.
• Bachelor''s degree or higher.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously.

• Remote, flexible, asynchronous work with no minimum hour requirement.
• Contributors typically work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week while assigned to an active project.
• Assignment depends on current project needs; qualified applicants may be considered for future projects as they become available.

Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).

F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility. If your school requires a CPT course, this engagement may not meet the school''s requirements. STEM OPT is not supported.
