Position OverviewThe Care Coordinator oversees daily administrative and operational functions of The Arc Mercer Health Center. This role ensures seamless coordination of appointments, medications, insurance requirements, laboratory orders, and communication across multiple departments and external partners.You'll be the central hub connecting physicians, clinical staff, residential programs, families, pharmacies, and outside providers — ensuring timely, accurate, and person-centered care for individuals with IDD. What You'll Lead Practice & Appointment CoordinationManage physician schedules and Health Center calendarsCoordinate resident appointments with internal/external providersOversee referrals, follow-ups, testing, and provider recommendationsCommunicate appointment details to residential and clinical teams Medication & Pharmacy CoordinationServe as primary liaison with pharmaciesReceive, verify, secure, and document injectable medicationsComplete and track prior authorizations, appeals, and medication formsCoordinate Genesight testing and related documentation Laboratory & Diagnostic SupportProcess lab orders and requisition formsCoordinate lab appointments and follow-up documentationEnsure providers receive timely lab results and information Insurance & Authorization ManagementVerify insurance eligibility via NaviNet and TebraSubmit and track prior authorizations and appealsResolve insurance issues impacting appointments or medications Communication & Administrative OperationsManage Health Center emails, calls, voicemails, and correspondenceMaintain organized medical, administrative, and insurance recordsSupport communication between Health Center, Residential Services, Day Program, families, pharmacies, and outside providers Financial & Office AdministrationPrepare bank deposits and maintain deposit documentationTrack deposits and bill breakdowns in ExcelMaintain organized financial and administrative records Provider & Pharmaceutical RelationsCoordinate meetings with pharmaceutical representativesMaintain product information and educational materialsSupport provider communication with external organizations What You BringRequiredHigh school diploma (Associate/Bachelor's in healthcare administration or business preferred)Experience in medical office administration or healthcare practice managementKnowledge of scheduling, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and pharmacy coordinationProficiency with TebraNaviNet, and Microsoft ExcelStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and confidentialityPreferredExperience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)Background in interdisciplinary healthcare coordination Core CompetenciesHealthcare operationsOrganization & attention to detailCommunication & follow-throughAppointment & referral managementMedication/pharmacy coordinationInsurance & authorization processesProfessionalism & confidentialityCollaboration with interdisciplinary teams Why Join The Arc Mercer?Mission-driven work supporting individuals with IDDCollaborative clinical environmentStable, growing organization with strong community impactComprehensive benefits packageOpportunities for professional developmentEqual Opportunity Employer The Arc Mercer is an equal opportunity employer.
