Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Location: Hollister, CA 95023; South San Francisco, CA 94080 We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to lead the integration of safety and sustainability practices across multiple operational sites. This role will support California facilities in Hollister and several CRADL locations in South San Francisco. The position requires a minimum of two days per week on‑site in Hollister, two days per week on‑site in South San Francisco, with the remaining day either on‑site or remote, as agreed upon with your manager and in alignment with each location’s needs. Time allocation may vary based on project priorities and operational requirements. In this role, you will develop, implement, and promote EHS procedures and programs that align with our organizational framework, and embed a culture of safety to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop policies and procedures to increase safety and environmental protection. Ensure facility compliance with applicable regulations. Implement site audit program, track status of corrective actions, and alert senior management of emerging issues. Participate as a member of the site Leadership Team and conduct reviews with facility senior management. Consult with site management and employees on regulatory compliance; work with facility management to ensure proper training programs. Submit environmental reports and permits to local, state and federal agencies promptly. Collaborate with site leadership and procurement to develop cost‑saving initiatives. Provide lead support and formal responses to EHS agency inspections. Manage moderate‑size capital infrastructure projects from inception to completion, including regulated areas. Develop program budgets and schedules, including platform tools such as Enablon. Monitor progress of EHS projects, maintaining budgets and schedules. Consult with corporate engineering and workplace staff to resolve potential EHS issues through design changes or other measures. Clarify, define, and enforce Agency and Company policies and practices. Support Equal Opportunity policy through affirmative action. Partner with site leadership to address audit findings from clients, regulatory agencies, or internal audits. Provide EHS training to staff and contractors, including SOP and policy training. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications EHS Specialist Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline and at least 3 years of related experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline and at least 5 years of related experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent and at least 7 years of related experience. Senior EHS Specialist Master’s degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 7 years of related experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent and at least 9 years of related experience. Compensation Data The pay range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000. Salary will depend on level, experience, skills, and certifications.
