(RN) Per Diem Registered Nurse-KOP Operating Room

The Clinical Nurse provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Primarily working out of the Outpatient Pavilion, the Clinical Nurse II will need to float to both Thornton and Hillcrest. Thornton and Hillcrest perform surgical services in Neurology, Orthopedics, Urology, Plastics, general, Oncology, Head and Neck, Vascular and Open Heart, Gynecology, additional services at Hillcrest include trauma and burn surgeries.

The Clinical Nurse identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations, directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned and promotes compliance and support for policies. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Must have at least two years (2+) of recent ambulatory and/or inpatient Operating Room experience with various service lines.
• 2+ years of recent inpatient and/or outpatient OR experience.
• Experience with various service lines: orthopedic, general, urology, GYN, ENT, MIS, plastics & robotics.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• BSN
• CNOR

Special Conditions

• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the Medical Center's business needs.
