Sr. Manager of Operational Accounting

Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 + 10% Bonus Location: Irvine, CA 92602 (Flex Remote) Company Description: Our client, high-growth services company built through an acquisition strategy, is searching for a Sr. Manager of Accounting. The company has scaled rapidly through M&A and continues to integrate newly acquired entities into its national platform. Reporting to the VP Controller, this role will lead a team of four managers, oversee a large team of indirect reports, and will play a critical role in strengthening internal controls, driving automation, and preparing the accounting organization for future growth. The ideal candidate must have experience managing large accounting teams, leading process improvement and automation initiatives, and partnering with newly acquired business leaders through post-close integration. Fast-paced, high-growth environment with strong M&A momentum High-visibility leadership role Opportunity to shape and modernize accounting processes Responsibilities: Lead and develop a multi-location team of managers and staff spanning several time zones, including offshore resources Oversee core transactional accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and integrity of related general ledger balances, including cash, receivables, payables, and revenue-related suspense accounts Partner with the Financial Reporting team on monthly variance and flux analysis Coordinate and support quarterly and annual external audit requests Identify and implement internal control enhancements to support scalability and heightened reporting standards Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for newly acquired companies, guiding their leadership through integration into corporate accounting processes and systems Lead change management efforts with acquired business partners, ensuring buy-in and understanding of new processes and their downstream impact Support ERP and system conversion projects, maintaining business continuity throughout transitions Champion the adoption of AI, automation, and reporting tools to streamline workflows and accelerate reporting timelines Document and flowchart existing processes to identify efficiency opportunities and standardize procedures across the organization Strengthen cross-functional collaboration with revenue-generating and operational business partners Train and mentor accounting staff on technical processes and their broader financial statement impact Lead ad hoc cross-functional projects supporting company-wide initiatives Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Progressive accounting leadership experience managing teams, including experience with dispersed or offshore staff Experience supporting or participating in M&A integration activity Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated experience driving process improvement, automation, or systems initiatives Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results #J-18808-Ljbffr Conexus
