Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for laboring patients in the L&D unit
• Monitor maternal vitals and fetal status; perform ongoing patient assessments
• Administer medications and assist with analgesia/anesthesia as ordered
• Facilitate deliveries and manage postpartum care; respond to emergent situations and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Document care in the electronic medical record; communicate with obstetric team and appropriate departments
• Educate patients and families, support newborn care, and assist with discharge planning

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Texas
• 3+ years of labor and delivery or obstetric nursing experience
• Ability to work the night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.)
• Experience in a high-volume L&D environment (approximately 85 deliveries per month)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced setting
