Shift and Schedule Night shift from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Part‑time. Weekly scheduled hours: 24. Unit Overview Unit 2 East is a Surgical Critical Care Unit focused on cardiovascular and general surgical interventions. The team includes RNs, nurse technicians (NTs), and clinical assistants (CAs). Leadership consists of a Clinical Nurse Manager, an Associate Clinical Manager, and a Nurse in Professional Development Specialist. The unit is supported 24/7 by surgical/anaesthesia intensivists, cardiovascular surgeons, and advanced practice providers. Scope of Work Under the supervision of a nurse and following hospital policies, perform routine bedside nursing activities such as bathing, grooming, ambulating, patient turning, and bedpan or urinary device assistance. Provide patient bed maintenance, assist with catheterizations, suctioning, colostomy care, applying restraints, administering enemas, douches, sitz baths, and peri‑care procedures. Additional tasks include performing other nursing procedures as directed by clinical staff. Qualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (BSN or ADN). RNs awaiting Michigan licensure or graduate nurses awaiting NCLEX retake or results. Provide and maintain unofficial transcripts; transcripts required at the time of hire. High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of adult medical‑surgical rotations (theory and clinical). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required upon hire. Location Royal Oak Hospital – 3601 W 13 Mile Rd, Royal Oak.
