Pharmacy Technician Supervisor

Responsible for frontline supervision of Technician 3s and MOSCs. Responsible for daily management of operations. Responsible for supervision, staff development , and assessment of staff competency for technicians. Manages daily scheduling of technicians and MOSCs to accomplish daily duty assignments. Works with the management team to identify areas of improvement and solutions through integration of pharmacy resources. Responsible for continuous quality improvement and investigation and remedy of incident reports in responsible areas. #CA-DS

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position .

• California Board of Pharmacy Technician License
• Minimum education satisfied through attainment of the required licensure/certification
• Experience working in an Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Setting
• Two (2) years of demonstrated experience serving as a senior technician, trainer, project lead, program coordinator or subject matter expert
• Two (2) years of demonstrated experience addressing operational issues, workflow barriers, or process improvement opportunities
• Two (2) years of experience with regulatory, accreditation, quality, inventory, automation, or medication access processes
• Ability to comply with all pharmacy laws, rules and regulations
• Knowledge of current California Pharmacy Law
• Recent knowledge of Pharmacy Third Party Billing

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
• Experience in Health System Pharmacy or Pharmacy Benefit Management
• Supervisory experience
• Academic medical center experience
• Epic EMR and other clinical software experience
• Experience with bargaining units and labor relations
• Experience ensuring compliance of operations to accrediting bodies [i.e., The Joint Commission (TJC), etc.]
• Experience in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.

The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
