Part-Time Recreation Leader - Terrell Mill

Job Title

There is one vacant position located in the Parks department at the Terrell Mill Tennis Center, 480 Terrell Mill Road SE, Marietta, GA 30067. This position will primarily work mid-day, nights, & weekend shifts.

Essential Functions

Performs customer service functions: provides information or assistance regarding services, activities on the phone and in person, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems and initiates problem resolution; and refers complaints/problems to appropriate personnel. Processes participant registrations, court reservations, tournament registrations, and other scheduled services and events: receives requests for classes, court times, or other scheduled services; reviews registration forms for accuracy and completeness; enters information into online database and calendars; collects and records fees; and maintains related documentation. Prepares facilities according to daily schedule: opens and closes facility; unlocks and locks doors; turns lights on or off; disarms and sets alarm; moves, sets up, and tears down tables, chairs, etc.; and performs routine cleaning duties such as emptying trash, sweeping floors, etc. Maintains attendance and punctuality within customary tolerances for this position. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong customer service skills and phone/receptionist abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office applications, experience with Google Drive and court scheduling applications). Detail-oriented with good organizational skills. Basic knowledge of tennis and Atlanta Tennis Leagues (ALTA and USTA, Ultimate, T2 a plus). Previous experience in a customer-facing role is a plus. Social media management/graphic design abilities a plus (previous experience in Canva a plus). Previous experience in CivicRec is a plus. Experience at another Racket Sports Facility, is preferred.

Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Environmental Factors Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, smoke, noise extremes, and electric currents.
