Plumber IIThis position is located inside a correctional facility.Position SummaryThe Plumber II performs preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, testing, etc., on all plumbing systems and components of the facility. This individual will maintain a high level of professionalism in addressing facility management issues, including responding to and resolving any client requests or concerns.Essential Functions:Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all plumbing issues throughout the facilityPerforms corrective and preventive maintenance on roof drain and storm drain systemsPerforms corrective and preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler system and equipmentPerforms corrective and preventive maintenance on domestic hot and cold water systems and equipmentPerforms corrective/preventive maintenance on facility sewage systemsResponsible for all required inspections on plumbing systems and components. Includes backflows, fire hydrants, fire pumps, water heaters and other pressure vessels, pressure valves, etc.Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on natural gas supply and distribution lines, or other fuel source systemsPerforms corrective and preventive maintenance on steam systems and equipmentRespond to On-Call emergency repair work or after hoursComplete corrective/preventative maintenance work orders in a timely and professional mannerOther Functions:Attend and actively participate in staff/safety meetingsMaintain all logs per ACA requirements as applicableOpen, document action taken, and close on demand and preventative maintenance work requests using a PC and PDAPerform other assignments as needed and/or assignedMust be able to work flexible hoursCoordinate outside contractors for contract work on associated systemsCompetencies:Ability to follow written and verbal instructionsMaintain correct and accurate record keepingStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal/written communication and presentation skillsExperience in leading the project management processProven record of providing excellent customer serviceThorough knowledge of the methods of the installation and repair of plumbing systemsKnowledge of the safety precautions of the plumbing trade, skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment used in the performance of plumbing workAbility to read and work from blueprints and schematics for associated systemsTechnical Skills:Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) proceduresUnderstand and abide by all Lock Out Tag Out proceduresPossess a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDAKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:RequiredHigh school diploma, or equivalentA minimum of 3-6 years of professional experience relative to the role.PreferredLicensing in applicable trade and jurisdictionPosition Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, non-exempt position with normal working hours Monday through Friday, working 40 hours per week. However, as business needs become necessary, after-hours, holidays, or weekends may be required.Work EnvironmentThis position is located within a correctional facility. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
