Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in neurology nursing with telemetry experience License: Valid compact nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Client RN experience, proficiency with the NIH scale, experience caring for post-surgical neurology patients, and knowledge of various neurology diagnoses Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse to work in a telemetry setting. The nurse will float between different units as necessary. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. Experience in neurology nursing is essential. Candidates must have comfort and understanding of the NIH scale. Proficiency in caring for post-surgical neurology patients is required. Additional competencies needed include managing telemetry, craniotomy, CVA, and dysrhythmias. The nurse will provide care to patients of various age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit is designated as a stroke unit and is capable of thrombectomy procedures. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential in this role. All candidates must submit two references covering one year of experience within the last three years. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities.
