Oncology RN

Overview Alliance Cancer Specialists is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our oncology care team at our Glenn Mills Location. In this role, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a collaborative clinical environment as needed. You will work closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to support patients through every step of their cancer journey. Key Responsibilities Deliver professional nursing care in accordance with national standards and oncology‑specific guidelines. Assess patient health status through interviews, physical exams, and review of medical history. Administer medications, blood products, and therapies under physician supervision. Perform venipuncture, access ports, and maintain central line devices. Monitor lab results and collaborate with physicians on dose modifications and symptom management. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and available resources. Provide psychosocial support and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols. Assist with scheduling, triage patient calls, and manage medication refill requests. Serve as a mentor to LPNs, MAs, and less experienced nurses. Participate in professional development and stay current with oncology nursing best practices. Ensure pre‑authorization and obtain appropriate consent forms prior to therapy administration. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (oncology experience preferred). Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care tasks. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations common to oncology clinics. In‑person interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff is essential. Specialty Specific Responsibilities Transplant RN Provide nursing care from initial patient contact through high‑dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell rescue to follow‑up care post‑stem cell rescue. Manage symptoms/toxicities/health abnormalities related to intense high‑dose therapy, stem cell rescue, and rehabilitation in collaboration with transplant physician and supervisor. Report data to company transplant registries and relevant bodies, incorporating company transplant network recommendations into clinical practice as assigned. Assist in providing community education about the process of stem cell transplantation. Infusion RN Program portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provide instruction to the patient and caregiver in the use of the pump at home. Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage. Radiation Oncology RN Minimum job qualifications: radiation oncology experience. Gynecological Oncology RN Minimum job qualifications: gynecological oncology experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
