Job Summary:

As the EHS Manager , you will ultimately be responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across SCI operations. You will coordinate safety initiatives, support field operations, and deliver comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs that protect employees, subcontractors, clients, and the public. As the EHS Manager, your customers are SCI leadership, Congruex business units, employees, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory agencies, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safety leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Administer and manage comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate EHS activities with SCI customers and support all safety initiatives across operations
• Enforce corporate, project-specific, federal, state, and local health and safety requirements
• Oversee and audit construction and workplace safety compliance while identifying and implementing risk management solutions
• Partner with General Managers, Engineering Directors, Construction Directors, Contracts Management, Finance, and People Services (HR) to develop and implement safety initiatives
• Support safety reporting, metrics, fleet safety, and general liability risk management programs
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other applicable federal and state safety regulations
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Coordinate workers' compensation activities, insurance carrier meetings, risk control visits, and safety audits
• Promote Congruex's safety culture through employee engagement, training, and professional safety involvement
• Travel domestically up to 50% as business needs require
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field preferred
• OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 500 Certification preferred
• Board of Certified Safety Professionals designation(s), including CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive construction safety experience
• Experience working with Federal OSHA Part 1926, Cal-OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other government safety regulations
• Experience managing environmental, health, and safety programs within construction, utility, or telecommunications operations
• Experience conducting incident investigations, safety audits, and regulatory compliance activities

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
• High emotional intelligence with exceptional relationship-building skills
• Ability to stay current with industry trends, regulations, and professional certifications

• Willingness to travel overnight as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field
• Board of Certified Safety Professionals designation(s) (CSP, ASP, CHST, etc.)
• OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 500 Certification
• Experience supporting telecommunications, utility, excavation, or underground construction operations
• Active participation in professional safety organizations

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel domestically up to 50%
• Ability to conduct field safety inspections at active construction sites
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods
• Ability to work in office and outdoor construction environments under varying weather conditions
• Ability to respond to emergency situations and travel as business needs require
