This organization is dedicated to delivering high-quality, cutting-edge products that enhance daily life, driven by a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Are you a visionary engineer ready to revolutionize how products come to life? We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a forward-thinking team where your expertise will be critical in shaping the future of product development and manufacturing excellence. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and production, directly influencing product quality, efficiency, and market success from concept to launch. Your impact will be felt from day one, driving innovation and optimizing processes to bring the next generation of groundbreaking products to market.
What You'll Do
- Drive all plant-level operations deliverables for product development processes, including fulfillment strategies, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), operations certification, cost reduction implementations, capacity evaluations, supply chain integrity, costing, and process development.
- Provide critical manufacturing input into new product development (NPD) projects, enhancing design effectiveness and reliability through Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) techniques, comprehensive design reviews, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Act as a Project Manager for all operational functions, including quality, engineering, production, and materials, specifically for new product introduction (NPI) and NPD projects. This includes managing new product launches, DfX initiatives, fulfillment strategies, PFEP, cost reduction implementations, capacity evaluations, supply chain integrity, costing, and process development.
- Develop robust product cost models in collaboration with product integration and operations teams, actively managing product costs throughout development to meet ambitious launch targets.
- Offer expert technical support for Make versus Buy analyses, utilizing cash cost modeling and considering global capacity and asset optimization strategies.
- Create and manage project execution timelines and plans, seamlessly integrating them into overall project schedules.
- Ensure the achievement of scheduled 'Inventory in Stock' dates, coordinating closely with product integration teams, and supporting project managers by ensuring complete and accurate communication of project facts.
- Lead initiatives for Time to Market Improvements, guaranteeing that quality and performance levels are met for new product launches, including launching without deviations and matching process capability to specifications.
- Champion process improvement as a change agent, regularly providing valuable feedback, ideas, and solutions for enhancements in both new product development and manufacturing processes.
- Actively contribute to the improvement of project management practices within product development and integration teams.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve complex problems, make sound decisions, justify risk under critical review, develop conclusions, and recommend decisive actions.
- Operate effectively and autonomously, demonstrating strong technical leadership without the need for direct supervision.
- Serve as a key liaison across all levels of production, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, safety, new product development (NPD), new product introduction (NPI), purchasing, and marketing, providing clear information and maintaining a robust network to support strategic production initiatives.
- Present project status updates and escalations to various levels of operations leadership, including Managers, Directors, and VPs.
- B.S. degree from an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, project management, or new product development engineering role.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience across multiple manufacturing processes, including but not limited to, assembly, casting, forging, injection molding, stamping, and/or finishing.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously across various stages of development.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated experience effectively conveying information at all levels and across diverse functions.
- A tenacious, enthusiastic, and results-driven individual with excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and SAP.
- Structured and organized approach, with the ability to work independently, collaboratively within a team, and to lead small teams when required.
