JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Title: Development Associate 

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8AM - 4:30PM, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed to support fundraising events. 

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 / year + Mileage reimbursement at the Federal rate.

Position Overview: 

Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations, the Development Associate oversees fund raising and development activities working directly with business and organization partners to enhance the agency’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. The Development Associate oversees fundraising events to ensure revenue goals are achieved. A key function of this role is to develop external alliances by cultivating corporate/business philanthropic support within the Agency’s service areas (Concord, Laconia and Wolfeboro).

Essential Functions:

1. Secures sponsors for all agency fundraising events.

2. Research, pursues, and obtains new funding opportunities and identifies potential and corporate donors to help achieve fundraising goals.

3. Plans and executes all agency fundraising events. Maintains and engages volunteer committees and works with communications team on promotional pieces related to events. 

4. Acquires and maintains sound knowledge and understanding of the organization and uses that knowledge and understanding to better comprehend all projects and programs. 

5. Plays significant external role; represents the Agency in public settings and events, attends Chamber of Commerce and other community events in Agency’s service area (Concord, Laconia, and Wolfeboro).

6. Contributes to the total effectiveness of the agency by communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.

7. Tracks impact of cultivating and soliciting donors to achieve goals of revenue, meetings, and proposals.

8. Develops and sustains excellent working relationships at all levels of the agency to generate interest and participation in fund raising activities.

9. Experience with Blackbaud – Raiser’s Edge a plus.

• Represents the agency by participation and networking with other similar agencies, trade associations, regulatory agencies, and other health care providers.
• Must be flexible to manage multiple projects as assigned with competing priorities to meet internal and external deadlines.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
2. Three years of work experience in development and fundraising, or non-profit healthcare preferred 
3. Event planning experience a plus
