A-Repairman - Electrician

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) seeks an A-Repairman - Electrician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the following systems: transformers, motors and their control circuits, HVAC systems, motor operated door, boilers, power distribution systems and all types of lighting within facilities and buildings operated and maintained by the MTA. The incumbent must be able to read blueprints, schematics. He/she may be required to lift heavy objects, work in elevated locations and in cramped quarters. The work will be performed at various MTA facilities and perform various other duties as assigned to the facilities maintenance department.

Employees may attend and participate in safety meetings, be aware of hazards in their work area, and should report hazards, unsafe acts, near misses, injuries, and accidents immediately.

Qualifications

Experience: Five (5) years of electrical experience performing installation, maintenance, and repair work involving all electrical circuits carrying 600 volts. Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Completed a certified Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship. Possess a Journeyman Wireman's card/certification. Electrical Master's License or equivalent is acceptable. Licenses & Certifications

Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
