Buyer at CampusPoint in Portland, Oregon, United States Salary: $65‑$75K/yr DOE. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Purchasing Buyer Responsibilities Forecast, plan, and purchase products that best fit customer needs at negotiated and specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. Manage volume rebates (monthly, quarterly, yearly), cash discounts, and payment terms. Oversee growth incentives, co‑op advertising dollars, and other relationship‑marketing events. Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure vendor compliance and determine changes when necessary. Analyze product trends, turnover, sales, margins, and gross profit on assigned product lines. Partner with Key Account Sales Managers to develop and recommend vendor programs that increase margin dollars by product line. Review order reports, replenish inventories, and coordinate with Warehouse and Operational teams for inventory adjustments. Manage the product return process for assigned vendors. Qualifications Previous experience in buying within a distributor or web‑retailer environment. Experience with Forecasting and Purchase Order modules of a major ERP (Microsoft Dynamics a plus). Proficiency in MS Office. Strong multitasking ability and capacity to work independently on multiple projects with moderate guidance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone, email, and business meetings. High attention to detail with accurate and efficient work.
