Job Description:


- Unit Overview:
- Stepdown unit from the ICU, providing a closer monitoring level.
- Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:3, ensuring high-quality care.

- Nursing Responsibilities:
- Care for stepdown patients from ICU, including TBI/trauma victims, post-major surgeries, CEA, and sepsis cases.
- Manage high-risk medications and titrate drips such as Precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and levophed.

- Essential Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in stepdown or PCU settings (first-time travelers welcome).
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Experience managing arterial and CVP pressure lines, as well as stable vented patients.

- Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM/PM.
- 3 shifts per week with schedules made 2-3 weeks in advance, and planned out to 9 weeks ahead.
- Flexible with self-scheduling options.

- Weekend & Holiday Requirements:
- 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday or Friday/Saturday).
- Participation in holiday rotation is required.

- Supportive Team Environment:
- 1 nursing aide available for all 14 beds, ensuring additional support.
- Close-knit team focused on effective teamwork and patient experience.
- Emphasis on HCAHPS and core measures, with a commitment to patient-centered care.

- Orientation & Training:
- 1 shift of unit-specific orientation to familiarize with policies and procedures.

- Additional Information:
- No on-call or standby requirements.
- Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
