Ultrasound Tech Intern

Job Description Someone enrolled in a contracted educational program. SHIFT & SCHEDULE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Under the supervision of faculty or clinical preceptor, the student can perform functions for which he/she has the educational foundation to perform safely. “Intern” means an individual who is enrolled in a contracted formal educational program. A clinical preceptor is not employed by the educational program as a faculty member and facilitates student learning in a manner prescribed by a signed written agreement between the educational institution, preceptor, and affiliating agency (as applicable). Faculty member--an individual employed to teach in an educational program EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and enrolled in a contracted formal educational program Required to complete two (2) hours of hospital provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on the handling of soiled instrumentation at the point of use and storage of instrumentation for sterile processing department pick-up LANGUAGE SKILLS Requires the ability to read and analyze information. Requires the ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from all Hospital’s publics. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The individual must be able to: - Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
