Shipping and Receiving Operator

The Shipping and Receiving Operator is responsible for receiving, stocking, and tracking purchased and work-in-progress (WIP) inventory. This role involves performing ERP transactions to maintain accurate on-hand balances, picking and delivering work orders and materials to designated locations, and ensuring the proper delivery of stock items. The operator will notify team members or end users of non-stock deliveries and work closely with the Buying team to resolve discrepancies on packing slips. Additionally, the operator prepares outgoing shipments, including LTL and small packages, by picking, packing, scanning, weighing, and labeling items.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, and track purchased and WIP inventory.
• Perform ERP transactions to maintain accurate inventory balances.
• Pick and deliver work orders and materials to designated locations.
• Deliver stock items to appropriate locations.
• Notify team members or end users of non-stock deliveries.
• Collaborate with the Buying team to resolve packing slip discrepancies.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, including LTL and small packages.
• Pick, pack, scan, weigh, and label items for shipment.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and shipping software (UPS, FedEx).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication with team members, vendors, and drivers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in inventory, shipping and receiving, and warehouse operations.
• Material handling and warehouse inventory experience.
• Forklift and computer skills.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, along with scheduled breaks. The facility is clean, temperature-controlled, and well-lit, providing a comfortable working environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
