Express Employment Professionals' Specialized Recruiting Group has partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer in the Greenwood area that is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support purchasing activities, customer demand updates, and material orders for production and maintenance operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented office environment, enjoys staying organized, and excels at managing multiple tasks and deadlines.


Job Summary:


The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for supporting purchasing and inventory activities by maintaining customer demand information, processing material orders, tracking deliveries, and providing updates to internal teams. This position helps ensure materials and supplies are available to support daily operations and production needs.


Responsibilities:

• Update customer demand (EDI) information in the ERP system daily.
• Process indirect purchases to support production and maintenance departments.
• Obtain approvals for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) purchases.
• Monitor orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide order and delivery status updates to internal departments.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and information.
• Support general office and administrative duties as needed.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with employees, suppliers, and other departments.
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
• Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7AM-4AM or 8AM-5:00 PM w/1-hour lunch


Pay & Benefits:

• $24.00-$25.00/hour
