We are looking for an Operations Specialist to support core banking operations in Rosemont, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage deposit account activity, investigate transactional issues, and work closely with branches and internal teams to keep daily operations running smoothly. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of banking controls and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities:
• Administer consumer and commercial deposit accounts by completing new account setup, profile updates, closures, and changes to account ownership with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee daily operational transactions such as wire activity, stop payment requests, exception processing, overdraft handling, and account balancing tasks.
• Investigate account-related questions and resolve transaction variances by coordinating with branch personnel and cross-functional business partners.
• Apply banking regulations and internal control standards to daily work, including requirements related to funds availability, error resolution, and anti-money laundering practices.
• Maintain thorough documentation and accurate records to support audit readiness, examinations, and internal risk oversight activities.
• Identify workflow gaps and recommend practical improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service quality across operations.
• Provide operational guidance to internal stakeholders by addressing process questions and escalating issues when needed.
• Monitor routine account activity for inconsistencies and take appropriate action to reduce operational risk and support compliance objectives.• Experience supporting banking operations with exposure to deposit account servicing and transaction processing.
• Working knowledge of consumer banking practices and operational controls in a regulated financial environment.
• Familiarity with wire processing, stop payments, reconciliations, exception items, and overdraft review.
• Ability to research discrepancies, analyze issues critically, and deliver timely resolutions.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements such as Regulation CC, Regulation E, and related compliance standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed records and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with branches, internal partners, and service teams.
• Background in call center metrics, credit card industry processes, consumer lending, or related financial services operations is preferred.
