We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join an organization in St. Petersburg, Florida. This role will oversee core accounting activities, support accurate monthly reporting, and help maintain strong financial controls across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process by preparing entries, reviewing account activity, and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.

• Maintain the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy, including support for intercompany accounting and cross-entity balances.

• Perform detailed reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.

• Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for multiple companies.

• Oversee fixed asset accounting by tracking capital projects, confirming approval compliance, and keeping asset records current.

• Process credit memos and ensure related transactions are recorded correctly in the accounting records.

• Provide documentation and analysis to support internal and external audit requests, and assist with budgeting and other finance initiatives as needed.

• Proven experience in senior-level accounting with responsibility for month-end close and general ledger management.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliation procedures.

• Experience preparing financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.

• Industry experience in manufacturing, construction, or services.

• Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capital project tracking, and related internal control practices.
