Position Type: Elementary School Teaching Date Posted: 3/20/2026 Location: District Wide Job Summary The Pre-K Teacher provides high-quality instruction that promotes student learning and development in alignment with the Illinois Learning Standards and district curriculum. The teacher establishes a positive and inclusive classroom environment, utilizes data-driven instruction, and collaborates with colleagues and families to ensure each student's academic and social success. Title: Pre-K TeacherSY26/27 Location: District Wide Employment Type: Full Time Work Days: 10-month position FSLA: Non-Exempt Reports to: Building Principal Education, Certification, and Licensure Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related field (Master's degree preferred but not required). Licensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Elementary Education (K–9) endorsement. Knowledge of Illinois Learning Standards and research-based instructional practices. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective classroom learning environment. Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. Experience Prior successful teaching experience at the elementary level preferred. Experience designing lessons that support diverse learning needs and promote critical thinking. Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks. Experience integrating instructional technology to enhance student engagement and achievement.Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with staff, families, and administration. EC-2 Certification Essential Duties and Specific Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging daily lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learners. Implement developmentally appropriate instructional strategies that promote student engagement and mastery of grade-level standards. Utilize formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional decisions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress. Integrate technology tools (such as Google Classroom, I-Ready, or Seesaw) to enhance learning and assessment. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share student progress and encourage home-school partnerships. Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and district professional development. Support the implementation of district initiatives related to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of child development and effective elementary instructional strategies. Excellent classroom management, organizational, and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills with students, families, and staff. Ability to use assessment data to plan, modify, and differentiate instruction. Demonstrated commitment to professional learning, reflection, and continuous growth. Ability to establish positive relationships with diverse learners and families. Terms of Employment Salary is based on market comparisons as determined by the Superintendent and Board of Education. Twelve-month work year. Salary is based on CBA Union negotiated terms.
