Yard Worker

The Yard Worker is responsible for supporting all yard and loading operations, including the inspection, cleaning, handling, securing, and loading of vehicles into containers. The role involves operating forklifts and yard trucks, assisting in paperwork management, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The Yard Worker plays a key role in preparing shipments for export to multiple countries and ensures that the loading is handled according to company and international standards.

Responsibilities

Load and unload vehicles and general cargo using forklifts or manually.

Move, drive, and position vehicles for loading into containers.

Conduct visual inspections of vehicles to verify damages, cleanliness, and preparation.

Secure vehicles properly within containers.

Receive, verify, and manage shipping paperwork related to loading activities.

Maintain a clean, organized yard environment in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Report damages, hazards, or unsafe practices immediately.

Support the Shipping and Receiving team to ensure timely and damage-free loading.

Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform other tasks assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
