Seeking a Field Service Engineer to ensure that equipment in the field performs to its intended design and meets or exceeds customer expectations. This role involves commissioning, testing, repairing, replacing, troubleshooting, modifying, and/or supervising equipment installations and operations at customer sites. The need for this work may originate from original contract scope, specific customer requests, or routine site visits.
Field Service Engineers often serve as the sole company representative on-site, and customers rely on them to have the experience and know-how to resolve a wide range of technical and operational situations independently.

Responsibilities
The Field Service Engineer must be able to:
- Assemble various sub-assemblies of heavy machinery into a fully working unit
- Move equipment into or out of a working position at a mine site, quarry, or similar location
- Perform inspections on newly assembled machinery to ensure proper start-up operation
- Conduct specific tests such as stall-tests, output feed size gradations, lubrication feed rate measurements, temperature monitoring, and current overload readings
- Perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of equipment issues
- Monitor equipment performance in the field for opportunities to improve throughput, output product size, or the ability to handle difficult materials, and present improvement suggestions to the customer or internal design teams
- Remove broken or damaged equipment and replace with new or repaired components
- Provide training and instruction to customer workforce on safe and effective maintenance practices
- Serve as the liaison between customer representatives on-site and the company, communicating and resolving issues professionally
- Document and report suggestions for design improvements as part of site reporting
- Perform all physical duties safely and professionally, either independently or alongside others, which may include:
- Use of heavy tooling
- Moving large or bulky parts manually
- Working at heights
- Working in confined spaces
- Working in extreme hot or cold environments
- Working long shifts
- Tasks requiring a high level of dexterity and agility
- Physically strenuous work
- Extensive use of hand power tools
- Extended or consecutive workdays when local skills/experience are limited
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, civil, rigging, haulage) and customer production operators
- Communicate with customer representatives at all levels on technical and engineering matters
- Build and strengthen customer relationships, including during challenging situations
- Perform machine overhauls, including removal and replacement of:
- Shafts, track shoes, and wear components
- Bearings
- Fluid couplings
- Gears and seals
- Electro-mechanical and hydraulic drives
- Support limited sales-related duties, such as recommending maintenance contracts or identifying low spares inventory
- Travel internationally on an extensive basis, including to locations where English may not be widely spoken, and independently manage situations to achieve successful outcomes
- Perform other duties as needed based on business requirements
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background
- Experience with heavy equipment, industrial machinery, hydraulics, or similar mechanical systems
- Comfortable with extensive travel, including internationally
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of on-site outcomes
- Willingness to grow within a company investing in long-term development
