Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients including those with Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hematology conditions, Radiation Oncology, and Gyn/Onc diagnoses
• Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, including proper handling precautions (PPE) and monitoring patients for medication side effects
• Manage set-rate drips such as heparin and 24-hour chemotherapy infusions (e.g., Methotrexate); medication adjustments require a physician order
• Perform EMR documentation using Epic Beacon; collaborate with charge RNs, house supervisors, and patient care technicians across all shifts
• Participate in float rotation to general medical units as needed, with float episodes consisting of 4 or more hours
• Adhere to a self-scheduling model within a 6-week schedule framework, including every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
• Hands-on experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, including handling precautions and side effect monitoring
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility will be subject to a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic Beacon EMR documentation
• Familiarity with 1:1 nursing care for specific medications or therapies
• Experience working in a unit utilizing house-wide telemetry (Philips monitors)
• Prior travel or contract nursing experience in an oncology setting
