Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, Newborn Care License: Active compact license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, and Newborn care - Ability to float as needed - Proficient in administering blood and blood products - Experience with IV starts and Magnesium Sulfate therapy Description: This position requires prior experience in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, and Antepartum care. The Registered Nurse will support patients throughout labor and delivery as well as in the postpartum phase. The role involves performing vaginal deliveries, circulating in the operating room for cesarean deliveries, and starting IVs. Candidates should be comfortable administering medications including insulin and managing epidural pumps. The nurse will perform assessments, manage pain, and provide education to patients and families. The patient-to-nurse ratio may vary from 1:1 to 1:3, depending on the needs of the unit. The ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams is essential. Flexibility and adaptability are important, as floating to different areas may be required. All certifications must be current and valid prior to the start of the assignment. Experience with electronic charting systems is preferred.
