Summary of Work JOIN OUR TEAM AS A LICENSED COUNSELOR AND RECIEVE $5000 AS A RECRUITMENT BONUS!The ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR) has a rewarding opportunity as a full time Behavioral Health Specialist in the Treatment Department serving the Missouri River Correctional Center and Burleigh County in Bismarck, ND. This position provides case management, crisis intervention, and group and individual therapeutic counseling services to residents. Positions in this class provide case management, crisis intervention, and group therapeutic counseling services to individuals, families, and clients at our minimum-security facility that focuses on building skills to allow transitioning residents into the community. These services include the assessment and treatment of complex cases such as mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.Key Duties include, but are not limited to: Interview and assess clients to identify individual needs, strengths, abilities, and appropriate servicesReview client records, assessments, testing results, and professional reports to evaluate treatment needs and inform service recommendationsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualized treatment and rehabilitation plansProvide individual, family, and group counseling, psychotherapy, case management, and skills development services to clients with complex needs, including high-risk populationsMonitor client progress, evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, and recommend adjustments to treatment and rehabilitation plans as neededCoordinate with community providers, caseworkers, and other professionals to connect clients and families with appropriate services and resourcesSupport clients in applying learned skills, participating in available programs, and preparing for successful reintegration into the communityMaintain accurate and timely client records, treatment documentation, and reports in accordance with established guidelinesProvide training, guidance, evaluation, or supervision to staff and counseling students as assignedMinimum Qualifications To be considered for the Behavioral Health Specialist position, you are required to have a master’s degree in Social Work, Addiction Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a closely related human services field. Preference will be given to those who are licensed mental health providers.To be considered for the Behavioral Health Professional position, you are required to have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Addiction Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a closely related human services field.
