Music Therapist Position at Claras House

Make a meaningful impact with children and adolescents as a Music Therapist at Claras House! In this role you will be responsible for planning directing and implementing music therapy individual and group sessions as a formal intervention to address physical emotional cognitive and social needs of patients aged 3-18. The Music Therapist is part of an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatry psychotherapists recreational therapist art therapists and other program staff.

Core responsibilities:

• Uses the creative music process with patients in group or individual sessions to achieve the therapeutic goal of healthy self-expression and growth self-awareness and communication.
• Collaborates with other health care team members to plan and implement the plan of care.
• Communicates clinical observations to the interdisciplinary team and modifies the plan of care based on patient's progress.
• Contributes to the formulation of individual patient treatment planning and discharge planning.
• Documents the patient's response to music therapy interventions and progress toward goals in electronic health record.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Monitors program effectiveness by initiating and participating in evaluation of the current and development of new programs to better serve patient needs.

Schedule:

Full time | 80 hours every two weeks Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. On-site | Claras House | St. Cloud MN

Pay and Benefits:

Music Therapist starting pay begins at 28.34 per hour exact wage determined by years of related experience. Salary range: 28.34 - 43.35 per hour. Full-time benefits: medical dental PTO retirement employee discounts and more!

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Music Therapy required. Master's degree preferred. Required to complete and pass the National Certification Exam (CBMT) and obtain credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified within 6 months. At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents with various diagnoses and of diverse backgrounds is preferred. Experience in a group setting is preferred.
