Sushi Chef

DESCRIPTION Sushi Masa is looking for a skilled and reliable Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other menu items while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, speed, and presentation standards. The ideal candidate should have strong knife skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. What you will do: Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, nigiri, and other menu items according to Sushi Masa standards. Ensure all food is fresh, properly portioned, and presented neatly. Handle, cut, and store fish, seafood, vegetables, rice, and other ingredients safely. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines. Monitor product quality and report low inventory or freshness concerns to management. Assist with prep work, including sushi rice, sauces, toppings, vegetables, and seafood. Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth service. Keep up with customer orders during busy hours while maintaining quality and consistency. Clean and sanitize tools, cutting boards, knives, counters, and equipment after use. Support team members when needed and follow instructions from the Head Chef or Manager.
