Senior Operations Manager

Our Senior Operations Managers play a crucial role in exceeding expectations and delivering a superb customer experience. This multi‑faced role blends strategy and execution across a functional area of a Fulfillment Center, overseeing people management, process improvement, and meeting or exceeding customer commitments. Key Responsibilities Own and deliver the operational budget for the functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning. Provide strategic long‑term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) for labor, rate forecasting, and peak‑season planning. Drive continuous‑improvement projects to optimize operations, improve productivity, and achieve business objectives, collaborating with management teams. Network with leaders across the network to share process improvements, drive efficiencies, and achieve cost savings. Establish objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience. Set clear goals for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable. Mentor and develop leaders and staff. Participate in recruiting to identify and evaluate candidates for promotion and hire. Work closely with HR, Finance, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, IT, and other leaders to secure resources for projects and initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Stand and walk for up to 10–12 hours. Work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature. Access all areas of the building without limitation, including ladders, stairs, and gangways. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Direct management experience in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment. Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies. Experience with the full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations. Must be flexible to work overnight, weekends, and holidays as business demands. Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related technical field; MBA or Master’s preferred. Ability to handle changing priorities and exercise good judgment in stressful situations. Interest in long‑term career development across multiple fulfillment centers. Track record of leading an operation comprising at least 100 salaried and hourly staff. Demonstrated ability to develop other leaders to higher levels. The package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units, as well as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
