Position Overview

Client is seeking a mid-to-senior level Business Intelligence / Tableau Administrator to support mission-critical reporting and analytics platforms associated with the state's child welfare systems.

The consultant will be responsible for Tableau Cloud administration, platform monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, user support, reporting deployments, and data integration support . The role will work closely with Salesforce, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, MuleSoft, development, integration, and business teams to ensure reliable enterprise reporting services.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Tableau Cloud sites, projects, users, groups, permissions, security, and environments.

• Monitor Tableau platform health, extract refreshes, subscriptions, and scheduled jobs.

• Troubleshoot Tableau performance, connectivity, access, and reporting issues.

• Deploy and promote reports across development, test, and production environments.

• Provide technical support to report developers, analysts, and business users.

• Support and troubleshoot Azure SQL Database environments used for enterprise reporting.

• Investigate reporting data issues and perform data validation and reconciliation.

• Monitor database connectivity, query performance, and data refresh processes.

• Troubleshoot and optimize SQL/SOQL queries .

• Monitor and support Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines feeding Salesforce and other source-system data into Azure SQL.

• Troubleshoot data-load failures, integration issues, and data-quality problems.

• Support MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) environments and integrations affecting reporting platforms.

• Perform root-cause analysis for reporting, integration, database, and access issues.

• Collaborate with development and integration teams during deployments and incident resolution.

• Support user administration, including user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permission sets, and sharing rules.

• Work with Salesforce Architects and technical teams to establish and maintain best practices.

• Participate in SDLC activities and maintain required technical documentation.

• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to team members.

• Assist management with architecture decisions, work estimates, resource planning, and technical recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in BI, application administration, reporting platforms, or related technical environments.

• Strong experience with Tableau Cloud administration and support .

• Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics platforms .

• Strong SQL skills and experience with Azure SQL Database or similar relational databases.

• Experience with Salesforce , including objects, fields, relationships, user management, roles, profiles, permission sets, and sharing rules.

• Understanding of Salesforce design decisions and best practices.

• Experience troubleshooting user access, declarative logic, environment management, and business/application issues.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and abstract-thinking skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive work from requirements through implementation.

• Experience working across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .

• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.

• Ability to collaborate with architects, developers, business users, and management.

• Experience providing guidance or mentoring to less-experienced team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) .

• Experience with MuleSoft Runtime Fabric (RTF) or MuleSoft integrations.

• Experience working with Salesforce data and reporting environments.

• Strong Microsoft Azure experience.

• Experience supporting data integrations and enterprise data pipelines.

Work & Location Requirements

• Hybrid position based in Hartford, Connecticut .

• Candidate must be local, willing to commute, or willing to relocate.

• Candidate must be able to work onsite at least 1 day per week .

• Candidate must participate in at least one in-person interview .

• Full-time, 40 hours/week.

• Must comply with DCF background check and confidentiality requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a Tableau Cloud Administrator / BI Administrator with strong SQL, Azure SQL, Salesforce, and enterprise reporting experience. Candidates with additional Azure Data Factory and MuleSoft RTF experience will be highly preferred. The successful candidate should be comfortable independently troubleshooting production issues, managing environments and user access, supporting integrations, and communicating with both technical and business stakeholders.
