This is your chance to change the path of your career and guide multiple teams to success at one of the world's leading financial institutions.As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking Connected Commerce Team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.Job responsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable, resilient, high-performance solutions using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, React.js, AWS, and PostgreSQL.Deliver creative software solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting, applying non-routine approaches to solve complex engineering problemsIdentify and drive automation or permanent fixes for recurring issues to improve the operational stability of applications and systemsLead technical evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within the existing technology landscapeLead software engineering communities of practice to increase awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologiesProvide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineering teams, supporting the growth and development of junior engineersDefine and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for complex, large-scale systemsCollaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutionsOversee end-to-end software delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standardsDevelop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews, debugging, and quality improvements on code written by othersCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representationRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExperience leading technology projectsExperience managing technologistsStrong proficiency in Java (required), with working knowledge of SQL and React.js, and a solid understanding of software development best practicesExtensive hands-on experience with RDBMS, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuningHands-on experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation (or equivalent)Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experienceExperience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplinesPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with React, TypeScript, UI design systemsCertifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc.)Understanding of the Payments processing in a BankChase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America’s households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
