Accountant

Chicago Northwest Suburbs | $75,000–$95,000 annually | 100% On-Site We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and the ability to hit the ground running while serving as a resource to others on the team. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Own assigned accounts and processes end to end, reviewing work for accuracy and resolving discrepancies independently. Perform financial analysis and generate reports to support decision-making. Serve as a resource to junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and review support as needed. Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors. Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Ability to work with minimal supervision and carry assigned work through to a complete and accurate result. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Required Skills Experience with financial reporting and analysis. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work effectively with financial data. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred.
