Unit Information Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit Number of Beds: 34 Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 for ICU, 1:4-5 for PCU, and 1:5-6 for Medical-Surgical Common Diagnoses Neurosurgery and related procedures Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS Sepsis and stroke Cardiogenic shock and related interventions Renal failure and CRRT Psychiatric emergencies and overdose GI bleeds and cancer-specific surgeries Responsibilities The ICU Registered Nurse will: Administer medications and IV therapy, including titration of various drips (vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics) Perform assessments and monitoring of critical patients Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, including fellows and residents Provide education and support to patients and families Participate in rapid response and code blue situations as needed Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols Qualifications Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, and NIHSS Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for the submission process Schedule The position involves 12-hour night shifts with a schedule of 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required on an alternating basis, as per unit needs. Orientation New hires will undergo a comprehensive unit-specific orientation consisting of two shifts.
