EEG Technician

Minimum Hiring Wage: From $26.89 per hour. Scheduled Hours: Days | Varies. Overview A brief overview: To accurately perform and troubleshoot electroneurodiagnostics tests as ordered by a physician. To complete and perform appropriate documentation and charges associated with electroenerodiagnostic tests. What you will do Performs electroencephalogram (EEG) on patients to get a recording of their brain activity through repeated cycles and notify the physician if anything appears wrong. Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Obtain patient identification prior to performing the EEG. Monitor patients' comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient. Attach EEG leads to correct areas so that the reading can be performed appropriately. Check, test and maintain EEG equipment, making any minor adjustments to ensure proper operation. Ensure that test results are uploaded so that ordering physician is able to view. Observe the recording to get acceptable test results for the provider to review and interpret. Qualifications H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) High School diploma or equivalent (Required). Prefer associate degree from an AMA accredited institution or graduate of an approved EEG program (Required). Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Talking to others to convey information effectively. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person. The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
