Steel‑toed boots not required Training & tuition reimbursement Drive to Zero Injuries initiative Team meals at quarterly recognition events Volunteer opportunities (Earth Day clean‑ups, food drives) Sustainability: plant participated in Department of Energy audit to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions You’ll Love It Here If You Like Troubleshooting equipment and tooling Performing preventive maintenance Repairing or replacing worn parts What You’ll Do Maintain and optimize mechanical systems: troubleshoot, repair, and improve components on high‑speed can lines to ensure consistent performance and minimize downtime Operate production machinery: run and maintain can line equipment, adjusting to keep operations smooth Ensure precision and accuracy: use calipers, micrometers, gauges to measure components within tolerances of .0010 Monitor production flow: track quality and line efficiency; identify and resolve issues to prevent disruptions Diagnose mechanical and quality problems; apply hands‑on solutions to improve equipment reliability and performance Contribute to continuous improvement: propose ideas to enhance safety, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency We Need You To Have High school diploma or GED At least one year manufacturing experience in mechanical diagnostics, repair, or similar Familiarity with precision measuring tools Willingness to operate and maintain Silgan can lines and document quality checks Who We Are America’s largest metal food‑packaging producer, focused on sustainability and innovation Silgan is re‑thinking metal food can through increased recycled content, process overhauls, renewable energy procurement, and other innovations
