Opportunity Overview Information Job Title Buyer Location West Liberty, IA Shift 1st Annual Salary Range $64,000 - $77,000 depending on experience Shift Premium None Job Summary The Buyer is responsible for purchasing goods, materials or services needed by the organization to operate and produce quality products in a timely manner. The Buyer is also responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating price and contracts, while ensuring inventory arrives on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Review raw material planning reports for assigned supply categories and determine if orders need to be placed or existing orders adjusted for supplies. Make necessary adjustments to systems to gain appropriate approvals and send them off to suppliers. Monitor inventory levels and make adjustments as necessary in order to make sure we have the right amount of inventory on hand, or in order, to meet production needs. Resolve invoicing issues. Partner with Research and Development with the sourcing of new supplies and/or new ingredients as needed. Review inventory positions and production plans of assigned categories. Make recommendations to the suppliers concerning order placement and/or order adjustments. Provide forecasts to the suppliers weekly. Provide documents/information to the quality department. Actively participate in the commercialization process. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of supply chain is preferred. Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communications along with customer service skills. Ability to problem solve. Must have computer skills to communicate and process data. Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available. Education: Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent is preferred. Flexibility: Must be able to work weekends as needed. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Compliance: Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
